Hardware in your building
It belongs to you, and so does each of its problems.
Ask where a typical small firm keeps its systems and the answer is usually “wherever they landed”. Minimax or Pantheon on a PC beside the bookkeeper, the web shop on the cheapest shared plan from years back, mail in the little inboxes that came free with the domain. That arrangement survives right up to a disk failure in Black Friday week, or the day a new salesperson in Maribor asks for files stored at head office. We relocate those parts deliberately into EU data centres, choosing between European providers like Hetzner, OVHcloud and IONOS and the EU regions of Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google Cloud. Mail moves to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. Once everything is across, our engineers carry on operating it over a remote link, so you never buy hardware and never wait for a visit.
Order one, or let us design several together. A VM that grows or contracts as you need, a whole physical box for demanding software, a shop environment that keeps its nerve on sale days, cheap and tamper-proof space for copies and archives, and the mailbox your team checks before coffee.
Ideal for a Pantheon or Birokrat database, a terminal server colleagues sign into, or a small in-house tool. Extra CPU for the year-end close, trimmed again once January arrives.
Suits an expanding ERP, a WMS or shop-floor monitoring running day and night, any of which performs better without neighbours. Hardware swaps are the facility's job, all else is ours.
Tuned for WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Magento and custom code. Ready for the Black Friday and Christmas crush, with Ceneje.si exports and stock updates that never quietly stall.
Off-site room for backups, a home for an ever-growing scan archive, or a file store for your apps. Locked objects stay out of reach of any ransomware gang.
Worth a look if inboxes are still run from the registrar dashboard, diaries differ between phone and PC, or proposals keep turning up as spam at clients. Usually Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC published.
What a server costs to buy tells you little. Think in a three-to-five-year horizon and include items no vendor will list: cooling, outages, the morning it fails, expansion.

Rule of thumb
Where do you stand?
Judge on multi-year spend, never on the purchase price alone.
Signing with a hosting provider is a data protection step, not paperwork. GDPR and ZVOP-2 treat your firm as controller and the provider as processor. So settle three things before migrating: the country where data will reside, the sub-processors involved, and the content of the processing agreement. Staying with an EU facility keeps personal data inside the Union, though for providers owned from outside Europe you should also review clauses on potential third-country access. Companies covered by NIS2 and ZInfV-1 must also treat their host as a supplier within supply chain security. Our part is reviewing the provider's paperwork and preparing technical details for your record of processing activities, namely location, encryption and permissions. Legal conclusions belong to your lawyer or DPO. Medical practices processing health records deal with special category data and need tighter measures.
Everything is arranged so Monday starts normally. The actual cut-over takes a few hours and the previous setup remains switched on for a while in case you need to step back.
Fourteen days of resource logging give us real sizing figures. In parallel we track down forgotten details: an eDavki signing certificate installed on one accounts PC, a GLS label printer configured only in the warehouse, a scanner saving into a personal desktop folder, a USB drive hanging off the server for backups.
The target host gets its VM, firewall policy and VPN, and a copy of your data is loaded. Two pilot users, typically one in finance and one in sales, spend a few days doing genuine work on it. Nobody else notices anything.
We schedule it for a Friday night or a Saturday clear of month-end and the VAT return date. Last sync, DNS updates and reconfiguring user shortcuts all fit into that slot. The former server is left running a few more days so reverting stays possible.
Looking at real usage after go-live, we resize where needed, and an over-provisioned start means a lower monthly charge. Ongoing monitoring and patching begin, and a member of your staff powers off the legacy box using a checklist we provide.
It does. Every facility we use is in the EU, whether the provider is European, like Hetzner, OVHcloud and IONOS, or a hyperscaler such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud operating an EU region. We document where each system lives. Should a customer contract or industry rule specify one particular country, we verify it during provider selection rather than finding out after migration.
A very reasonable worry. With the server off site, connectivity becomes a critical component. Most companies add a secondary line, mobile or cable from another carrier, alongside fibre, and let the router switch automatically. Even with both down, people can carry on from home or tether a phone and reach exactly the same server. A broken on-premises server offers nothing comparable.
Physical layers, meaning electricity, connectivity and components, are the provider's concern. From the OS upwards it is ours: patching, settings, backup jobs, monitoring and acting on alarms. You can have that inside Start, from €450 per month plus VAT, inside Business or Premium, or on a time basis at €50 per hour plus VAT. In every case the work is remote.
Absolutely, it is a typical use. Tax and accounting regulations expect invoices and bookkeeping records to remain complete and legible throughout the mandatory retention period. With Object Lock on an S3 bucket, nothing can be removed or changed early, whether through a slip of the mouse or malicious software. Retention periods per document type are for your accountant to confirm. We focus on formats that will still open in years to come and on a folder layout that matches how your accountant looks for things.
Sometimes. If demand has hardly changed in years and a suitable room exists, owned kit can win on a five-year view. Where sales are seasonal, branches are opening or people work from home, hosting tends to be cheaper because capacity follows demand. Remember to count power, cooling, fresh UPS batteries and lost staff hours during breakdowns. We run both cases with your actual numbers before you commit.
No. Contracts and accounts carry your company name and data stays in open, portable formats. On request we deliver VM images, database dumps and written documentation, so a different team can continue or you can bring it all in-house.
Name what should move: store, ERP, mailboxes or archive. Within a working day you receive the resource list and a monthly figure excluding VAT.

An engineer will write back no later than the following working day. Faults that leave your staff unable to work are always looked at first.
No town by that name here. Check the letters, or settle for the nearest larger place. Our engineers work only over the internet, so Kočevje and Koper get precisely the same treatment.
