Think of a Novo mesto firm supplying parts to carmakers, 140 staff split between offices and production. A single IT man keeps it all going and is good at it: Pantheon, laptops for the field sales team, Wi-Fi over the shop floor, the gate cameras. Then one morning its largest buyer, a vehicle group headquartered in Germany, emails a supplier security survey. Forty questions about MFA, proof that backups really restore and what happens during an incident, due back in a fortnight. He has the know-how; he does not have the hours. Apply adds remote capacity exactly at that pinch point, and nobody loses their job over it.
your IT person can finally take two weeks off in one go
Our share of the work
Once a company reaches this size, whether Monday goes smoothly hinges less on any one desktop and more on servers, identities, access rights and data. Your staff hold the knowledge of how the business ticks; Apply makes sure the platform beneath them does not wobble.
Whether your Windows and Linux boxes sit in a back room, at a hosting firm like Hetzner or OVHcloud, or in an Azure EU region, we patch them inside windows you have approved and record each change in a log noting when it happened and who did it.
Access that follows the job
Over the years, Active Directory and Entra ID collect countless individual exceptions granted “only this once”. We replace them with department groups. New hires find everything ready on their first morning, and anyone leaving on a Friday is cut off from every system, the ERP too, before the weekend starts.
Copies proven to come back
Scheduled jobs protect the servers, Microsoft 365 and the ERP data, keeping at least one copy outside your premises. Every so often we choose a system at random, bring it back for real and time the exercise. Until a restore has been tried, a backup is wishful thinking.
LAN, Wi-Fi and uplinks
We configure and watch the firewall, switches and access points from afar. Visitors, CCTV and machinery on the production floor live on segregated VLANs. If the fibre goes down, a line from a second carrier, or a 5G router where fitted, takes over without anyone touching it.
Buyer surveys and security assessments
We help you give truthful answers to the security surveys large buyers send and pull together the proof: how widely MFA is enforced, the backup schedule, how incidents get reported, logs of admin activity. Should a car maker require TISAX, the technical groundwork is ours to prepare.
Numbers you can plan with
On a schedule we agree, you get a digest from the ticket system: how many requests came in, how many deadlines were kept, where patching and backups stand, and which risks we have noticed. Next year's IT spend can then be planned forwards rather than justified backwards.
In-house, outsourced, or a mix
Hardly any firm of this size goes purely one way. We tend to meet three arrangements, and the middle one rides out summer leave, flu season and public holidays most comfortably.
Model 1
Everything internal
A single employee handles it all, toner cartridges and firewall policy alike.
Deep local knowledge
Nobody needs telling who uses what
A single point of failure
Security keeps slipping down the list
The practical middle
Model 2
Divided duties
Your IT person owns the ERP and day-to-day users; Apply owns the platform and its protection.
Absences are covered
Leave and illness no longer stall things
Expertise on tap
Apply brings the network, Intune and backup skills
Model 3
Entirely external
One agreement covers all of IT, with the same contact every time.
One party answerable
Directors set direction instead of running IT
Nothing left vague
Timings and coverage are contractual
Frequently asked questions
Possibly not directly. Many suppliers fall outside the essential and important entities defined by NIS2 and Slovenia's Information Security Act (ZInfV-1). Their customers, however, often fall inside, and part of their duty is to secure the supply chain, which is why surveys about sign-in, backups and incident reporting land on your desk. A lawyer should decide whether the rules bind you in your own right. We supply honest technical answers and close the gaps before next year's round of questions arrives.
Not at all. No outside company will ever understand your machines, routines and colleagues as well as he does, so he remains the hub. We relieve him of repetitive chores, alert watching and the deep specialist work, like firewall rules, Intune policies or a delicate recovery, freeing him for the ERP and for projects. His summer trip to the seaside can finally be laptop-free.
Both sides work from one ticket list under plain rules. The ERP and production users belong to him; networking, servers, backups and protection belong to Apply. Half an hour on video every week or two keeps everyone aligned on outstanding issues and upcoming changes. Any documentation written in the process is the company's property and remains in your hands if you ever move to someone else.
None. We do not step into the role of your Pantheon, SAP Business One or Business Central partner, or of whoever writes your bespoke software. Our patch is the foundation they run on: server, database engine, speed, backups, remote connections and update slots. The partner inherits a well-documented system, and you stop acting as go-between for two contradictory explanations of one error.
Business covers weekdays from 9:00 to 17:00. Where something genuinely must not stop overnight, perhaps the server that prints shipping labels or the screens tracking output, the answer is to add 24/7 support or step up to Premium. Together we pick out which systems truly need night-time cover, because protecting everything around the clock is usually money poorly spent.
It does not, and our questionnaire answers say so in as many words. Our access controls, logging and procedures are modelled on ISO 27001 principles. If your firm wants certification or a TISAX label for itself, we will help you get ready. Only an accredited certification body can award it, never Apply.
Let us know your headcount, how many servers you have and what they host. After a look at the current set-up we send a price plus a specific list of tasks.
