The technician who knew everything has gone
Retired, moved away or simply not answering. What remains is the Wi-Fi password and a few sticky notes. In week one we secure admin accounts, the domain and email, then work through the rest in order.
In plenty of Slovenian businesses IT is still the job of “whoever is good with computers”: someone from accounts, a nephew, or a technician who drops by when he has a spare afternoon. While that person is around, things more or less work. Once they go on holiday or leave, the passwords stay in their notebook and the settings in their head. Apply hands that job to a team. We look after staff requests, user accounts, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, servers and backups, all through encrypted and logged remote connections. The response time is not a verbal promise but a figure in the contract, and you know the monthly cost before you sign.
Four building blocks that fit together. A typical path starts with full support; out-of-hours cover follows when online sales run through the weekend or the factory adds a night shift.
For firms without their own IT staff who want one partner for everything, paying a predictable monthly sum rather than hourly invoices that vary each time.
You manage servers and networking in-house, but colleagues need fast answers: a certificate invisible to the browser, a lockout, a printer sulking in the corner.
For organisations with several departments or sites: a service catalogue, one queue for requests, priority by business impact and reports you can check yourself.
On-call cover overnight, at weekends and on public holidays for systems that cannot wait until Monday. Common in online retail, shift-based manufacturing, logistics and hotels.
Hardly anyone looks for IT support while everything runs smoothly. There is normally a specific trigger. Here are the six we see most, each with a sensible first move.
Retired, moved away or simply not answering. What remains is the Wi-Fi password and a few sticky notes. In week one we secure admin accounts, the domain and email, then work through the rest in order.
At eight staff, everyone sharing a login felt harmless. At thirty, ex-employees can still sign in, unused licences keep billing and patches pile up unapplied.
Your IT person ought to be leading the move to a new ERP but spends the day resetting passwords. We take on first line so the projects can stay with them.
A WooCommerce or Shopify store that breaks late on Saturday stays broken until somebody checks on Monday. We put duty cover on the systems that earn money and leave the rest to weekday hours.
A second office, a warehouse, or colleagues at home three days a week. We sort access, VPN and devices remotely, and you hire a local contractor for any cabling, following our instructions.
A questionnaire on patching, access and tested backups. With ongoing support and a monthly report the answers are already to hand, rather than being dug up for each new form.
Onboarding is a short project in four stages, longer or shorter depending on how much you run. Meetings take place on Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, without anyone leaving their desk.
An hour or so with whoever understands your set-up best. Afterwards we have an outline of users, systems and half-finished tasks.
Fee, scope and reaction times go into writing, together with a GDPR processing agreement. Until both are signed, we stay off your systems.
Passwords move into an encrypted vault, a monitoring agent goes onto devices, we compile an inventory, and staff get a one-page guide on how to reach us.
Tickets are worked every day, maintenance runs in agreed slots, and management meets us at intervals to discuss spend, risk and what comes next.
Three things set the price: headcount, number of servers and how fast you need us to react. All amounts exclude VAT. Anything outside the plan costs €50 per hour plus VAT, and you approve a written estimate before we begin.

Ask for a priceNormally we work alongside them rather than instead of them. Your colleague keeps what an insider does best: the industry-specific programs, internal improvement work and day-to-day contact with each department. We pick up routine user requests, patch cycles, backup checks and any week when they are away. The business stops depending on a single individual, at a lower cost than recruiting another IT employee.
Remote-only delivery is deliberate, and it applies to every client. When a box needs power-cycling or a lead swapping into another port, someone in your office does it while our engineer explains each move over video. Larger physical jobs, new cabling for example, go to an electrician or installer you already use, who receives a written brief from us. Hardware comes from your usual supplier, and set-up happens over the internet once it is switched on.
Not at all. Scattered teams are exactly where remote support shines. Because nobody drives anywhere, a warehouse two hours from head office and a sales rep somewhere on the motorway to Maribor receive identical response times. When there are several locations, early on we bring accounts and network configuration into one consistent pattern, so no site turns into a permanent exception.
A GDPR and ZVOP-2 processing agreement comes first, and it narrows our access to special categories of personal data even further. Each session needs a second sign-in factor and leaves a dated audit trail; our practices are modelled on ISO 27001. Your clinical software and its connections to eZdravje, e-prescribing and e-referrals stay with the vendor who supplies them. Our job is the layer underneath, meaning workstations, logins, the network, updates and backups, and we talk to the vendor so you do not have to.
Clients under contract simply write to helpme@apply.si, and each email is logged on arrival with a timestamp. A Microsoft Teams channel can be added too. Where words are not enough, our engineer opens a video session so you can point at the problem on screen. We deliberately run no public hotline, which means requests never depend on whoever happened to answer.
Your contract is with Apply LLP, which is registered outside the EU, and for that reason eSLOG e-invoices via Slovenian platforms are not available. A PDF arrives by email at each month end, priced in euros with 30 days to pay. The correct VAT treatment for services bought from a supplier in a third country is a matter for your accountant. Billing and payment queries: finance@apply.si.
Tell us how many people work for you, whether you have your own server and whether you need help outside office hours. We will send a proposed monthly fee listing every service it includes.

An engineer will write back no later than the following working day. Faults that leave your staff unable to work are always looked at first.
No town by that name here. Check the letters, or settle for the nearest larger place. Our engineers work only over the internet, so Kočevje and Koper get precisely the same treatment.
