Custom software

Commissioning your own software makes sense once off-the-shelf tools start dictating how your people must work. A furniture exporter in the Savinja valley assembling every quotation from three spreadsheets, a Novo mesto supplier retyping customer schedules into Pantheon, a Ljubljana software house short of engineers: each starts from a different place and needs a different way of working. So before anything else we ask whether Odoo, Business Central, an extension to your current ERP or a smartly configured Microsoft 365 would cover it. If so, you hear that before any development quote lands in your inbox. When a build is genuinely warranted, progress comes in small increments: discovery, clickable mock-up, fortnightly sprints, go-live and ongoing care. Collaboration is entirely remote, via Teams or Meet, a joint Git repository and protected access, while the code itself belongs to you and lives in your account throughout.

What we offer

Pick the starting point closest to yours: a concept with no product yet, a product without enough hands, programs that refuse to talk to each other, or an ageing system that must move before it gives out.

Outline your project

From idea to product

The pain is obvious to you, a specification does not exist. Discovery, mock-up, build and go-live are priced and signed off one by one, with GDPR and eSLOG 2.0 invoicing considered from the first sketch.

Mobile apps

Phone and tablet apps for reps on the road, field technicians, construction supervisors or the public. Offline operation, camera-based barcode reading and GPS where needed, published in stores under your own name and maintained long after release.

Open source development

Solutions built on proven community projects, PostgreSQL, Laravel, Django or Keycloak among them, so headcount never drives the licence bill and no single vendor holds the pricing lever. Each delivery includes an SBOM and a check of every licence involved.

Dedicated developer teams

Engineers, QA specialists and analysts who push to your Git and sit in your planning sessions over video. Useful for software firms whose job adverts go unanswered; you steer the backlog, we handle hiring and keeping people.

Systems integration

Your ERP, be it Pantheon, Minimax, Metakocka, SAP B1 or Dynamics 365 Business Central, exchanging data automatically with CRM, WMS, the payroll system and Microsoft 365. E-invoices are produced inside the ERP and dispatched via the exchange provider you already contract with.

System and database migration

Retiring home-grown Access or Delphi programs and unsupported SQL Server installations in favour of a maintained release, PostgreSQL or EU-based hosting. Historic records travel too, a pair of trial migrations precede the real one, and a fallback remains ready.

Ways to engage us

Let the clarity of your brief choose the model. Demanding a firm price for something still undefined almost guarantees a dispute down the line.

A sensible first step Research only The time sink is obvious, yet no document exists that a supplier could price
Heads-up: additions to scope are billed Fixed price per stage Requirements are agreed and signed, and you do not expect them to shift
Note: you need someone who sets priorities Time and materials, €50 per hour plus VAT Specifics come into focus as you go, capped by an agreed monthly maximum
Note: speed depends on a tidy backlog Dedicated team, quoted individually Plenty of planned work stretching into next year, too few engineers to deliver it

Treat go-live as the beginning. Business software lives for five, ten or more years, while quotes usually stop at the first day in production. Over that span frameworks reach end of life, app store policies change, the e-invoicing standard is updated and users come up with fresh requests. That is why every development quote from us arrives together with an annual upkeep estimate, so that cost never comes as a surprise. Regardless of who supports it later, each completed stage leaves you holding code, docs and deployment instructions, and the licence or transfer of rights is agreed in writing before day one. A lawyer should read that clause before you sign.

How a project runs

Fresh functionality shows up on a staging site every two weeks, and your colleagues sign in with personal logins to poke at it. Misunderstandings therefore surface within a fortnight instead of at the very end.

01

First conversation

Thirty minutes on video to grasp the goal and judge whether development is the answer. Should a ready-made tool suffice, we tell you then and there.

02

Research and mock-up

Interviews with front-line staff, a requirements document, a diagram of system links and interactive screen designs. Billed on its own, and the output is yours even if you choose another supplier.

03

Building in sprints

Fortnightly cycles ending in a demo and your nod. As long as total scope is unchanged, the order of remaining work can be rearranged freely, no contract amendment required.

04

Launch and beyond

Production release, remote training sessions and four weeks of heightened attention. After that, optionally, a care plan with guaranteed reaction times.

Frequently asked questions

Perhaps it should not, and we would rather tell you so upfront. Where Odoo, Business Central, a sector package or a decent CRM covers your needs, adopting it beats commissioning code. Building pays off when your particular way of working is your competitive edge, or when customising a product would exceed the cost of a clean build. Discovery prices both routes so you can compare.

Once research is done. Any total quoted before the process is understood is guesswork. Research itself is fixed-price and produces written requirements, a timeline and a cost breakdown. From there we continue on a fixed price per stage, on time and materials at €50 per hour plus VAT if priorities keep moving, or with a dedicated team quoted separately.

More simply than you might expect. We need one contact who knows the process and a few hours from the people who do the work. Everything else happens on Microsoft Teams or Google Meet calls, where we show progress every fortnight, and in a test environment where you try things yourselves. You never have to write or read technical documents; any decision we need from you is put in plain language.

Everything. The repository is in your hands stage by stage, accompanied by deployment scripts, design documentation and an inventory of external libraries. Cloud hosting, store listings and third-party subscriptions are registered to your business from the outset, so walking away never leaves you locked out.

Before building, we document every personal data field: purpose, storage location and erasure date. Permissions by role, audit trails, encryption and automatic removal after the retention period are features of the product, not afterthoughts. Wording for notices and consent comes from you or your legal adviser; our job is to show it at the proper moment and log what users agree to.

Schemes for digitalising small and medium-sized firms do appear from time to time, for instance digitalisation vouchers, calls from the Slovenian Enterprise Fund (SPS) and EU funds. Whether you qualify is for the funding body to decide, and many calls require you to apply before work begins. We are not an authorised adviser and cannot promise any grant, though we are happy to supply a concise project outline and itemised budget to support your bid.

Describe the problem in your own words

No technical brief required. Tell us which task swallows the most time and what you would like to change; we will suggest a way of working and the scope of an initial research phase.
