Retail and e-commerce

Shoppers never complain that your product page crawled for nine seconds or that Flik quietly disappeared from checkout. They simply leave and pay a competitor, and the only trace is a dip on your revenue chart. For an online seller, downtime shows up as half-filled carts nobody completes, marketplace orders you have to cancel and reviews that slide. Apply ties the webshop, marketplace listings, payment methods, couriers, your physical store and the books to one stock figure and one set of product data, then keeps that machinery healthy through every season. We do it all over a secure connection; nobody from Apply ever needs to visit your stockroom or shop floor.

The pieces we put together

Whether a purchase moves from basket to shipped box untouched by human hands depends on six components working in concert. Your fiscal cash register and card reader are set up by the vendor or your bank; Apply handles the software, the flow of data between platforms and the daily running, remotely in every case.

Your webshop

Running on WooCommerce, Shopify, PrestaShop or Magento. Plugins and theme get patched, load times are tracked for the pages that earn money, backups are restored on a test copy to prove they work, and we pinpoint the checkout screen where people drop out. On accessibility, from keyboard use to colour contrast and labelled form fields, we aim for WCAG 2.1 AA, because the European Accessibility Act now extends to selling online.

Marketplaces and comparison sites

Amazon.de and Amazon.it, eBay, Allegro for Central European buyers and Ceneje.si for the home market, linked by a connector app or straight through each API. Every listing derives from a single master catalogue, every order lands in one queue, and a unit bought through one channel disappears from the available quantity on all the others within moments. Pricing and commission logic stay separate for each outlet.

Taking payment

Cards via Stripe, PayPal, Bankart or Monri; Flik for instant transfers; UPN QR for people who prefer their banking app; Apple Pay and Google Pay through the gateway; plus pay-on-delivery. We wire these up and rehearse 3-D Secure challenges, refunds and the webhooks your gateway fires, so money that has already left a customer's account never leaves an order stuck as unpaid from Friday to Monday.

Shipping and returns

Pošta Slovenije, GLS, DPD and Express One labels come out of the printer the moment an order is packed, customers receive a link to follow their parcel and a return authorisation is created without anyone lifting a finger. Choosing a parcel locker happens at checkout. Amazon orders and parcels heading abroad follow the very same packing routine, and customer service spends less time answering “where is my refund?”

Invoicing and the books

Private buyers get their invoice straight from the order, while company customers receive an eSLOG 2.0 e-invoice via whichever exchange provider you contracted. Till takings, marketplace payouts and commission deductions are posted in batches to Minimax, Metakocka or Pantheon. At month end your bookkeeper has a full data set and nobody on your side has spent an afternoon on CSV exports.

Shopper data under GDPR

Clear privacy information, newsletter opt-ins you can prove, a cookie banner that respects ZEKom-2 and GDPR, signed processor agreements with each app that touches buyer records, and two-step login for anyone with admin rights. A deletion request from a customer becomes a quick routine job instead of a week of hunting through systems.

Four ways a sales day goes wrong

Any online retailer will have lived through at least one. Heading them off is almost always cheaper than losing a single strong day of trade.

Black Friday The shop crashes under the crowd Prevented by stress-testing early and scaling resources before the rush
Overselling Two people buy the last unit Prevented by one live stock figure rather than spreadsheets emailed around
Minutes Checkout rejects cards Prevented by watching the full payment journey, gateway included
Trust Buyer records get stolen Prevented by prompt updates, a WAF and trimming accounts with full rights

November's results are decided in September. By the time Black Friday and the pre-Christmas week arrive, you want the stress test behind you, big changes on hold and a rota of reachable people agreed. Back-to-school, Valentine's and the summer coast season work the same way: fixed in the calendar, yet still a surprise for shops that did not plan. Imagine a sports gear retailer in Kranj with two stores, a WooCommerce site and offers on Ceneje.si. Its season dates are known long in advance, so peak day runs to a plan rather than on adrenaline.

Frequently asked questions

Order management tools are dependable only while somebody configures them well and watches them closely. We straighten out category and attribute mapping, order status logic and invoicing, and we notice when a marketplace link dies at 3 a.m. because a token ran out. When a ready-made connector cannot do the job, we build a custom one.

Yes. One system, typically the ERP or the point-of-sale software, becomes the reference for stock and product details; the website and marketplaces read from it and web orders flow back into it. Collecting an online order in store, or bringing it back there, follows that same path. We neither sell nor install cash registers or card readers. Instead we agree responsibilities with your till vendor, and fiscal confirmation of receipts remains inside the vendor's system.

Often, yes, provided quantities and orders synchronise without manual work. If they do not, you end up selling items that are not on the shelf and each cancellation hurts your standing in the search results. A typical start is one marketplace, perhaps Amazon.de, with a slice of your range; further channels follow once that first one behaves predictably.

Yes, if you have our 24/7 support service or the Premium plan. Those are exactly the days your tills ring most, so they are also when an outage hurts. Pick the dates that matter, such as Black Friday, the run-up to Christmas or the January sales, and we fix beforehand who will be on duty and how issues move up the chain. Preparatory work beyond the plan costs €50 per hour plus VAT.

It need not. The essentials are a finished redirect list before launch, unchanged URLs for product pages that pull in visitors, and page titles and meta descriptions reviewed individually. The replacement shop is built next to the live one, products, customer logins and past orders are carried over, and positions in Google are tracked closely for a good while after launch. A retailer swapping PrestaShop for Shopify would ideally schedule this for a quiet month such as February.
