Seller sign-up and vetting
A seller applies with company or sole trader details, accepts the marketplace terms and links an account for payouts. You approve the application before they can publish anything.
A marketplace of your own brings many sellers under one brand, but it also makes you the go-between for sellers and buyers. Imagine a cooperative or tourism body in Pomurje that wants one site for the produce of fifty local growers and makers: pumpkin seed oil, honey, wine, handicrafts. Each grower manages their own listings and stock, while the buyer fills one basket from three sellers and pays once. The platform has to split the amount, take off the commission, tell each seller about their part of the order and close the month without an hour in Excel. Technically that is much more than a webshop, and commercially more still.
We build on a proven open-source base or from scratch, depending on the number of sellers and how unusual your rules are. First, though, we check that the business model is clear.

Each seller sees only their own products, stock, orders and payouts, and can add items by hand or import them from a spreadsheet.
New products wait for review, where you check photos, description and category. The marketplace stays orderly even as more sellers join.
The buyer pays once, and a payment provider with split payments divides the money between sellers and your commission. Settlements appear in the dashboard and payouts run automatically on the agreed schedule.
Each seller dispatches their part of the order with Pošta Slovenije, GLS or DPD and enters the tracking number. The buyer sees in one view which parcel is already on its way.
Seller ratings, messaging between buyer and seller and a returns process in which you can step in as the marketplace operator.
With a marketplace we discuss the rules before the screens. The first version is often trialled with a small group of sellers.
Who the sellers are, what the commission is, who invoices the buyer, who handles returns and who pays for delivery. Without these answers the right payment provider cannot be chosen.
We weigh existing marketplace software against a custom build in light of seller numbers, payment flow and your specific needs, and give you a written recommendation.
The first version opens to five or ten sellers who test listing products, handling orders and receiving a first payout with us.
After fixing what the pilot revealed, the marketplace opens to all, seller guides are prepared and features are extended as needed.
The hardest part of a marketplace is not the technology but the money passing through your hands. If buyers pay you first and you then pass the money on to sellers, payment services rules may put you in a different position from the one you expect. We therefore recommend a payment provider that splits payments directly and a legal review of the model before development starts. Reporting duties that platform operators have regarding their sellers should also be checked with a tax adviser.
Enough for buyers to find real choice. For a local or sector marketplace that can be twenty to thirty sellers, but only if their listings are in order and their delivery is dependable. A pilot with a smaller group shows whether the model works.
That depends on the model. Often each seller invoices for their own goods and you invoice the seller for the commission. Decide the right model with your accountant; we configure the platform to match.
Yes, if their products live in WooCommerce, Shopify or a spreadsheet. Imports and stock sync run through files or APIs, depending on how many sellers need it.
Sometimes. If you sell most products yourself and have only a few partners, an online store that lists partner products is a cheaper and quicker route. The marketplace can follow once there are enough sellers.
Tell us who the sellers will be, what they will sell and how you see the commission working. Within one working day we will send questions about the business model.
