Take an accounting firm in Ljubljana with twelve staff. Half the team works in a cloud accounting package from the office; the other half spends two days a week at home on VPN. On the last working day of the month, when returns are filed through eDavki, the office connection starts dropping. Nobody can tell whether the operator, the firewall or an overloaded VPN tunnel is at fault, and half the morning disappears in switching boxes off and on again. With monitoring in place, that day turns into a short email: the operator's line is losing packets, a fault has been logged, VPN is running over the backup link. Devices and lines are checked every minute, and the measurement history also reveals slow drifts that are heading towards an outage. We monitor how the network behaves, not what travels across it, so your clients' data stays out of our reach. All work is remote; whenever something has to be moved or swapped on site, we send instructions with photos.
Latency, jitter and packet loss towards several targets, so it is clear at once whether the issue lies in your building, with the operator or at a remote service. Where you have two operators, we also confirm that automatic failover genuinely works.
Remote access
VPN tunnels between sites and the connections of staff working from home: concurrent sessions, drop-outs and certificate expiry dates.
Hardware
Temperature, power, CPU and memory load, errors on individual ports and the number of clients per access point.
Configuration copies
Each change on the firewall and switches is saved with a timestamp. A mistaken change can be reversed, and a replacement unit set up with the last working configuration.
Updates and advisories
We track vendor security advisories and SI-CERT notices. Firmware updates are applied in an agreed maintenance window with a way back.
Fault reports
When the operator is the cause, we log the fault on your behalf, attach the measurements and stay on it until it is resolved.
Monthly review
A brief report on outages, capacity and suggested changes, which also comes in handy when you prepare next year's budget.
How the work runs
Monitoring is in place within roughly two weeks and then continues as an ongoing service.
01
Device list
We record devices and lines and install a data collector on a machine that is always on.
02
Two weeks of learning
We observe normal behaviour, then set thresholds and agree with you who is notified about which event.
03
First fixes
We deal with what we notice in the first weeks: outdated device firmware, default passwords and services left open needlessly.
04
Steady rhythm
Alert handling according to your plan, scheduled maintenance and the monthly report.
Silence is the most dangerous signal. If the data collector shuts down or loses its connection, a system without extra configuration simply has nothing left to report, and the dashboard looks as though all is well. That is why missing data counts as an alert in its own right for us, and the monitoring itself is checked from outside. Each month we also review alerts that produced no work and either tune or remove them, so the list stays short.

During working hours, Monday to Friday 9:00-17:00 Central European Time, within 4 hours on Start, 1 hour on Business and 15 minutes on Premium. Premium and the 24/7 support service extend to nights and weekends as the contract specifies. Alerts outside the agreed hours are dealt with on the next working day.
A computer or small virtual server that stays on, plus admin access to the devices. If you have no such machine, we suggest an option you can buy from your own supplier.
We monitor VPN connections and their stability, not home networks and not what people are doing. If someone's connection keeps dropping, we help them track down why.
No. We gather metrics such as utilisation, errors and availability. What we collect is documented, so you can add it to your record of processing activities.
Network monitoring is included in Start (from €450 per month plus VAT), Business (€990 per month plus VAT) and Premium (from €1,990 per month plus VAT). The quote spells out which devices and lines are covered.
